It seems odd that you can't just supply the password. If they have a finger print logon enabled and the administrator account does not have a finger enrolled, the "Run as Administrator" does not work. This holds true for any standard user account on my system. No error that I supplied incorrect credentials. However, now that I enrolled the administrator with a fingerprint logon, I can supply the finger for credentialsĪnd it works. The window disappears and nothing happens same if I type the wrong password, window disappears. When I do a "Run as Administrator" function using my standard user account with a finger enrolled, I get prompted for the administrator credentials. This is how I originally set it up on Windows 8.1 Pro as well. IÄecided to test out what would happen if I enrolled a finger for the administrator account. Only my standard user account had a finger enrolled. In the past, specifically Windows 8 Pro, I did not use a fingerprint for the administrator account, only a password.
